Terms of Use
In short. Stow is a secure channel between you and your financial adviser’s firm. Stow itself does not give financial advice. Use the service honestly, keep your sign-in details to yourself, and understand that the figures you see are provided by your firm.
1. Who these terms are between
These terms are an agreement between you and Stow (ABN 18 427 996 259) (“Stow”, “we”, “us”). By creating an account, accepting an invitation or using stow-app.com you agree to them. If you use Stow on behalf of a firm, you also agree that the firm is bound by its separate subscription agreement with us.
2. What Stow is — and isn’t
- Stow is software. It lets a licensed financial advisory firm share portfolio information, documents and messages with its clients, and lets clients complete onboarding and identity checks.
- Stow does not provide financial product advice, tax advice or legal advice, and does not hold an Australian Financial Services Licence. Any advice you receive through Stow comes from your firm and its authorised representatives under their licence.
- Portfolio values, holdings and performance figures are provided or configured by your firm. They may be delayed, estimated or incomplete. Confirm anything you intend to act on with your adviser.
3. Your account
- You must be at least 18 and the person your firm invited. Keep your password and authenticator private; you are responsible for activity under your account until you tell us or your firm it has been compromised.
- We may require two-factor authentication. Firm and adviser accounts must use it.
- Give accurate information during onboarding. Uploading a document that is not yours, or altered, is a breach of these terms and may be an offence.
4. Acceptable use
Do not use Stow to:
- access information about anyone other than yourself or the entities you are authorised to view;
- probe, scan or test the security of the service, or interfere with it (we run a responsible disclosure process — email security@stow-app.com);
- upload malicious code, unlawful material, or content that infringes someone else’s rights;
- copy, scrape or resell any part of the service.
5. Your content
You keep ownership of the documents and information you upload. You give us the limited licence needed to store, display and process them to provide the service to you and your firm. Your firm may retain records after you stop using Stow to meet its legal obligations — see our Privacy Policy.
6. Our content
Stow, its software, design and trade marks belong to us or our licensors. Your firm’s branding inside the app belongs to the firm. These terms don’t transfer any of that to you.
7. Availability and changes
We aim to keep Stow available around the clock but do not guarantee it. We may change, suspend or withdraw features, and we will give firms reasonable notice of material changes. We may suspend an account that breaches these terms or poses a security risk.
8. Ending your use
You can stop using Stow at any time; ask your firm to close your account. A firm may remove your access when your relationship with it ends. Sections 5, 6, 9, 10 and 11 survive.
9. Liability
Nothing in these terms excludes rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot be excluded. Otherwise, to the extent the law allows:
- Stow is provided “as is”. We are not liable for decisions you make in reliance on information shown in Stow, which is your firm’s information, or for loss caused by your firm, your own actions, or events outside our reasonable control.
- Where liability cannot be excluded but can be limited, it is limited to resupplying the service, and our total liability to you for anything else is limited to AUD 100.
10. Privacy
How we handle personal information is set out in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.
11. General
- These terms are governed by the laws of South Australia, Australia, and you submit to the courts there.
- If part of these terms is unenforceable the rest still applies. Our not enforcing a term is not a waiver.
- We may update these terms. The version date above changes when we do, and you will be asked to accept material changes the next time you sign in.
